The foam can be made with a number of different components, which can effect its performance. Examples include polyester, polyurethane, PVC, silicone and more. Foam is available in open or closed cell formats. Open-cell foams are generally used for interior, acoustical, and other light industrial applications. Closed-cell foam is a gasket material with more structural strength, heat resistance, UV resistance, and stability. It is used in more common industrial gasket applications.
