Our Design Process

Here at TCH we pride ourselves on our ability to provide custom solutions. We provide concept development services based on your specific requirements, such as, new product development, adapting existing products, and incorporating new features. We implement many Design Thinking methodologies to ensure we provide top quality designs and customer satisfaction. There are the 5 unique stages.

1) Understand

The first step in our design process is to understand our customers wants, needs and objectives. Seeking to understand our customer’s needs is the best way to come up with effective solutions. It is a solution-based approach to problem-solving. To complete this phase, we communicate with customers about their objectives and learn more about the project. It is only when we have a full understanding and can define the problem/need that we move on to step two.

2) Ideate (Concept)

Here we spend some time generating new ideas and potential solutions! This could range from brainstorming sessions, analyzing how an existing product might be tweaked to align with customer needs or sketching concepts on paper. Once a concept is chosen it is then shifted over to 3D CAD modeling or 2D drawing software to realize concepts into accurate, dimensioned parts.

3) Prototype

The TCH Design Procedure
In this step, a prototype or proof of concept is created. We utilize rapid prototyping, 3D printers or CNC production equipment; processes that allow us to quickly translate our CAD designs into functional working parts. This is essential so that our solutions can be verified and reviewed with our customers.

4) Evaluation (Test)

The TCH Design Process
The testing phase allows us to learn if our solution works as intended. It provides the customer a way to physically test for fit and function before costly tooling and manufacturing begins. If any changes arise, we iterate, and modify the prototype. Material specifications and CAD drawings are developed to communicate manufacturing intent to factories.

5) Manufacture.

Once our customer approves a prototype; we move forward manufacturing the custom product. In addition to offering the custom services of product development and adaption, we also offer custom branding and specialize in custom foam fabrication. To learn more about these services stay tuned for another blog post! In the meantime, you can find information .
